The Santa
Fe Sage Inn is a two-story limited service
motel located just blocks from Santa Fe, New Mexico’s
famed historic district. Situated on 2 .7 acres, the property
includes 157 guest rooms and the luxury of approximately 202
parking spaces, with ample room for tour buses to maneuver
and park. The approximately 3,400 square foot lobby has a breakfast
area situated around a large kiva fireplace, pleasant outdoor
portal seating area, a 1,500 square foot meeting room, and
a 24 hour business center. The property enjoys excellent visibility
with its location on the main thoroughfare leading into the
downtown area and directly across the street from a new community
park, which is the focal point of the Railyard development.
Built in 1984, the 157-room Santa Fe Sage Inn is located strategically
on Cerrillos Road, the main artery leading into the city’s
famed historic district and adjacent to the new Railyard development
project. These two districts have essentially grown together
to form the new “heart” of the city, which services
as an epicenter of activity for both visitors and locals alike.
The historic Santa Fe Plaza is listed on the National Registry
of Historic Places and has been the city’s central gathering
place for nearly 400 years. This location is well accepted, as
demonstrated by the subject’s operating history, since
the present owner’s purchased in 2004.
The Property is
located directly across Cerrillos Road from the new 50 acre Railyard
Historic District and the 10 acre Railyard Park and Plaza. The
$13.5 million dollar park is under construction and when completed
will contain parklands, common areas, commercial space, an IMAX
Theatre and a walk-bike trail system. The park, trail and plaza
system will serve as a connection for the entire Railyard site,
linking the open spaces with a retail and residential hub. The
park and plaza will draw visitors because of the location and
offerings of galleries, specialty retail shops and restaurants.
Additionally this location is the downtown stop for the Rail
Runner Express commuter train. The landscape architect for the
Railyard Park and Plaza is Ken Smith who is credited with other
innovative projections, such as New York City’s Museum
of Modern Art’s rooftop garden.

70,631, making it New Mexico’s third-largest city citation.
Like most appealing places to live, Santa Fe is growing, however,
in a very controlled and planned manner as not to destroy anything
that has made it what it is today. Santa Fe County’s population
is projected to increase 7.8% in the next five years.
